Very proud to have Anek Designs also showcased at Baro!

If your style is eclectic then this is the store for you!

The best part about Baro however for me remains the force behind the store Srila Chatterjee and her fantastic team. I met Srila at my first ever show with Black Taxi in Mumbai. I had just started out and was also making kantha jackets at the time amongst other things. She came to my stall, told me she liked the jacket but wanted it customised for her, gave me the size, money and her address and left. I had no idea who she was and if she would even remember me when the package reached her as the transaction was so quick.

I promply checked if there was anything about her online, since she had such a star presence about her. I found lots of articles and some very inspiring interviews online, but what struck me was her individual style and her love for jewellery.
I included one of my first little necklaces, along with the jacket and then forgot all about it.

Many many months later Srila called me to say she had a little project for me, luckily I had moved to Mumbai by then (from Pune). I had no idea that she had remembered Anek Designs all this while. Ever since then, she has found little projects for me to do and I am so grateful for them! I know that the projects that she includes me in, are all that she can do herself, but it is this quality to include and grow together that is so attractive about her.

There is a warmth that she exudes, it is so generous that it is reflected by others around her including her team. It is the same warmth that will greet you at Baro, I promise, and if you are lucky you will take some of this sunshine home with you!

so what next?

now that the exhibition is over....what should i plan next hmmm??
of course i have a few custom orders that i need to finish....so about a week-10 days for that. i must look at other exhibitions happening around town and see if i can fit in somewhere..reconnect, connect with friends, colleagues, bloggers...got to meet some in the last two days and it was great...so i must do more of this :D
check with all the store i am supplying to and refill stock...

i really wish i had spent more time with all the fellow bloggers who turned up to meet me and bought my products....so i am a little sad that i couldn't sit down for a cup of chai and a little chat with those of you who came...perhaps a bloggers meet now will be a good idea..what say?

also the society complex that i live in...mahindra woods, is organizing a small carnival for the residents (guests are welcome) and i have decided to participate as well. i will be there, displaying my wares again and so if you wish to drop by and say hello..it'll be great and i'd love to meet you again. the carnival is tomorrow i.e. 29th of January 2011 from 5 pm onwards....will i see you there?

this will give me a wonderful opportunity to connect with fellow residents since i hardly know anyone....yes and i will soon complete a year in pune...my bad!!

ellora caves: aurangabad

so husband and i took off for a short holiday last weekend (his friday was off for makar sakranti) and we went to aurangabad!!!! yayayayya!! i had been wanting to see the ajanta and ellora caves for a long time now and now i have....the trip was absolutely awesome and i have come back over awed by the beauty of our country...i now feel there is so much more to to see and learn here in india before i go out and see more of the world...(i do want to do that too....in its own time i guess)
this was also our 1 year wedding anniversary holiday!!! yes we complete one year of being married this 20th!!!
so here are some pics of the caves (i say some since i have far too many to upload here) and i am showing them in order of our visit...so ellor first and then ajanta will follow tomorrow!

ladies and gentlemen i present to you...the spectacular ellora caves:

via wikipedia:  Ellora (Marathiवेरूळ) is an archaeological site, 30 km (19 mi) from the city of Aurangabad in the Indian state of Maharashtra built by theRashtrakuta (Kannadaರಾಷ್ಟ್ರಕೂಟ) rulers. Well-known for its monumental caves, Ellora is a World Heritage Site.[1] Ellora represents the epitome of Indian rock-cut architecture. The 34 "caves" – actually structures excavated out of the vertical face of the Charanandri hills – being BuddhistHindu and Jain rock cut temples and monasteries, were built between the 5th century and 10th century. The 12 Buddhist (caves 1–12), 17 Hindu (caves 13–29) and 5 Jain (caves 30–34) caves, built in proximity, demonstrate the religious harmony prevalent during this period of Indian history.

please excuse the quality of pictures...using flash is banned inside the caves and i have a very unsteady hand (not that i use flash but i prefer to keep it in the auto mode for it is more steady in a digi cam)

the ellora caves are divided into brahminism, jainism and buddhism and you find cave temples for all three  religions...i could go on showing you the pictures...but i think that will bore all of you...so if you are planning a trip and need some more info...feel free to write to me at bahl.kanika@gmail.com and i will be happy to help!

i will be back tomorrow with bad pictures of bibi ka makbara, ajanta caves and some good ones of taj hotel where we stayed :D

have a good day ya'll!
