My Work Station

today i am posting a few pics of my workstation! yayee!! this little queen's guard comes from the V&A Shop in London..isn't he real cute?? if u turn the key it marches all over my desk:)

my mouse pad is from Paperchase again in London. its a fantastic stationary store and is full of inspiring prints!

i have this one:) someone really special got this postcard from tokyo!

i have had this collection of images with me since a long time...there is a uniqueness about them that i am still to understand and therefore articulate. prints by Master Artists HIROSHIGE and HOKUSAI of Japan

i don't know which is which so please feel free to help out..

p.s: i also have the last print (a postcard)...japan is on my list of must see places in this lifetime..maybe i should write down this list of places...matter for another post!

fractals

Wikipedia: A fractal is generally "a rough or fragmented geometric shape that can be split into parts, each of which is (at least approximately) a reduced-size copy of the whole," a property called self-similarity. The term was coined by Benoît Mandelbrot in 1975 and was derived from the Latin fractus meaning "broken" or "fractured."

images above are part of Bikram Mittra's work. click on the link above to check out his website. Bikram studied Exhibition Design at the National Institute of Design, India. he then went on to do an MA in Design Products at the Royal College of Art, London.

Fractals are a fantastic resource to grow patterns and cover a wide surface area. the popular snowflake patterns that we have all seen at some time are wonderful examples of the fractals in nature.

me thinks its time i used all the info at hand and got down to some serious surface generation what say?

TineK Home (a.k.a.my dream home..sigh..)

this is my dream home...oh how i long to have a house of my own that i'll paint all white and grey and charcoal and green and a bit of tan..its images like this that make my day and are a reminder that i have a long way ahead to acheive the personal goals i have set for myself..its this that makes my heart beat..my pulse race..and gives me a reason to dream on..maybe an indian verandah here......with a mango tree for shade..sigh..a perfect place to get that little nap in winters..or just lay around with a book..
