along with some more fabulous people, ANEK DESIGNS is showing textile and home accessories at the RED EARTH DESIGN MELA on the 17th and 18th December 2012 at the Prince of Wales Museum!!
exhibition will be on from 11am-8pm. i hope to see all you wonderful people there!!

I am MUMBAI!!

its been so long since i last posted on my blog...Facebook is partly to blame for this :) but now that Facebook doesn't tempt me so much either, it is time that i get back here to share my thoughts, work and life in general.

so lots has been happening! i recently moved to mumbai since my husband decided to take on a new job...quite frankly we were both looking forward to being in bombay. pune was starting to get too comfortable and so a little boring. its been a month now in this new, crazy, super fast city and i am loving every bit of it...well apart from the roads....whats with the bumpy ride mumbai?

lets talk about the efficiency of the city.. vivek and i have moved in as tenants in a really nice complex in malad west, with infinity and inorbit malls at walking distance. we decided to move in to our new home a day early so we could sleep in a completely empty house, even before our furniture moved in, to let the vibe of the place sink in. we were woken up the next day at 6 am sharp, by our doorbell. to our surprise a newspaperwala welcomed us (how did he know we moved in at 10 pm the previous night??) with a newspaper in hand and 3 simple words..."aaj se shuru" (beginning today). we knew then that the city moved at super speed and that we would have to be on our toes all the time to keep pace with the MUMBAI!

anek designs now @ srishti store, pune!!

shout out to the Puneri Junta!!! anek designs is now available at the Srishti Store, Sus Road, Pune!!!! it is nothing fancy, and totally non glamorous, but if you love handicrafts this is the place to go!! get a whole lot of gifting ideas here..and if you happen to meet the owner...do mention that i told you about it!!! :D

owner Debjani Banerjee has been running the store for more that 6 years now and has been working extensively with jute material.

she undertakes corporate orders as well!

to make it easier for you, here are the cushion images, shot by me, of my products, made in pune, in 100% silk.
if you have been a part of our "Anek Designs" journey then you will surely remember these images!!

this guy who is obviously a big manufacturer has blindly stolen my images and in the process my products!
i find this tragically funny!

looking at their websites...i know that they are also openly stealing images from online shops like shopo.in and http://www.rajaandrani.co.uk/

yes i know i do not own kantha, and that the world is using it.....but you know each kantha cushion is unique right? these particular cushions were put together by me,i own these images and worked really hard to shoot them, edit them and then upload them to sell online. it just isn't fair!

through this post i wish to reach out to anyone who believes in me to support me and guide me in taking some action against this online theft.
